Hi Scott, I did first see Dr Valin in New Haven about four years ago...he was a very sweet man very attentive....very interested in helping me....unfortunatly he could'nt do the surgery then because of my insurance company. Now, I have Dr Richi in Waterbury, scheduled for april 24th, and i am very very pleased with the attentivness of his staff. Same insurance by the way!! Some of the requirements from his office are to attend meetings about surgery, attend nutrition visits, attend nutrition class, constant contact with his office all BEFORE surgery, as well as 2 to 4 visits with him before the procedure. One appt before is over an hour long to make sure you understand everything reguarding surgery and aftercare, your lifetime journey, his paperwork is very easy to understand and very thorough. After surgery is done he requires you to call the office daily, meet all your appts with him, attend more nutrition classes and support groups, keeping in contact with the nutritionist Caroline, take all your supplements etc. He makes you feel very positive about your journey, he is very concerned with your full understanding both before and after.

Two years out and I am still loyal to Dr. Valin. He has gone above and beyond in my eyes. He has worked with my PCP to work on other problems, he has helped me work out my cardiac problems and has always been there to answer questions when I needed him. His staff has always been just as accomodating. I had my heart bypass at St. Raphs. and he stopped in to see me every day. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose him again hands down. I love having his twin brother as my cardiologist as well. I did research three Dr's and decided on Dr. Valin. I agree with Kathy, you have to do your homework and make sure you are comfortable with the staff, pre op and post op procedures. Maggie

I knew that he had a brother in the business but I did not know that it was a twin. That is pretty cool. Take Care Scott

Well, I guess SOMEONE here has to give a big thumbs up to Dr Bell! He met all of my needs , pre AND post op.Its been 18 months since surgery and I would have no problem picking up the phone, or emailing him if I had any questions. Everyone has to find the Dr that best fits them. Dr Bell was and is mine! Robin R
