Of course Dr. Valin is the best surgeon in the Connecticut because he was mine. Dr. Aranow and Dr. Barba seem to be the big names in the state. Who was your surgeon and would you recommend him/her to a friend. I kind of expect all yes answers but lets see. Take care Scott

I cannot answer this but the people have do their homework to research about Doctors and ask people about their doctor. They have to trust their doctor to do this high risk gastric bypass or lap banding. Kathy K

Just for the heck of it. Kind of wondering if anyone else feels as loyal to their surgeon as I do, I guess. No good reason. Scott

I had Dr. Barba and in fact felt so comfortable with him I now work for him and Dr. Giovanni. Both did my tummy tuck a month ago and it came out fantastic! ***But*** with that being said, I think that each person needs to do their own research and make the best decision for themselves. Jessica

The person who did my surgery, who shall remain nameless, was excellent as far as I know. I lived and everything so I guess he did everything correctly. But the post-op care, at least in my case, was nearly nonexistant. I think people should research what sort of programs are in place post op, such as support groups, before picking a surgeon. I wish I would have known about this aspect before my surgery. Boy would I have made different decisions!

I could not agree with you more Christine, I think all the Connecticut Weightloss Surgeons need to have better post-op follow-up care. I almost think it would have to be mandatory if you want the surgery. Even if they send you to another doctor as their speciality is surgery. I am not sure all of what needs to be put in place for a program post-op but I think it needs to include many things. Have a great day - smile Beth
