Home and doing well

Hi Neighbors, I got home from the hospital around noon today and am doing pretty well. No nausea ... very little gas ... minimal pain. The only concern is that I'm not sure I'll be able to get in all the liquids that I'm supposed to. A couple of days ago those 20 oz. bottles of Isopure didn't seem like so much but now .... I really don't want to but then, who does? I'm afraid if I "overload" it's going to happen. Tomorrow I start Stage 3 and am not so sure about it. Any suggestions? {{{{HUGS}}}} Sandy

Hey Sandy, Welcome home hon, glad to hear all went well with your surgery. Just take it slow and you will get use to the liquids. Take sips first then gradually you will tolerate more. I did alot of protein shakes, chicken broth and egg drop soup at first, then puddings, jello, applesauce and scrambled eggs. Check with your doctor to see what your allowed in each stage. Everyone is different. Take care of yourself and good luck. Hugs KimC

Hi KimC, I've got the lists and haven't had trouble with the jello and stuff. I had tea, jello and chicken soup before I left this morning. It's the liquid liquids I'm becoming paranoid of REAL quick. Thanks for the ideas. I never was wild about chicken soup but I think I'll be changing my mind real soon. {{{{HUGS}}}} Sandy

Hi Sandy, Just take in as much liquid as you can. You will get used to drinking in smaller amounts quickly and it will become habit. Don't forget those suger frr ice pops as well. They work great as they are eaten slowly. Good Luck and Take Care, Julio

Thank you Julio. I know it's going to be a trial and error thing but I also know that I will make it with the love and support I have found here. I will get those SF ice pops ... they sound like they will be a great help. {{{{HUGS}}}} Sandy

Hi Sandy, one more thing. get yourself one of those mini food processors. They are like 10 dollars at walmart and just run whatever your going to eat thru it. Shrimp and a little tarter sauce make a yummy little treat. Just remember as far as things like chicken or turkey they need a bit more moisture in them so add a little chicken broth, or mayo to moisten them up some. Really helps out when your cooking for the family as you can have what they are having, just run it thru your machine. Beats the heck out of eating baby food! Take Care, Julio

Thanks Julio, I have wanted a Magic Bullet since I saw the first infomercial but just couldn't buy one with a clear conscience. I now have the clear conscience AND my Magic Bullet. It's everything they say and I can't wait to get to the pureed stage for those shrimp and chicken salad. My husband laughs at me ... says I look like a mad scientist with my protein powders and my DaVinci SF syrups and my bullet. {{{{HUGS}}}} Sandy

Hiya Sandy! Wow..seems like yesterday you were talking about having surgery! Congratulations on a successful surgery and beginning Stage 3. How are you feeling? I like your new name! I'm on Stage 3 myself. I've been having protein drinks, sugar free pudding/jello and soup. I'm in my 3rd week of stage 3 and i'm actually getting use to it. No sense in stressing over foods I cant have! Might as well embrace what I can have! Continued success to you Sandy and enjoy the holiday weekend! Angie
