I wasn't gone forever, just complications for me....
Hello all!
So, I just got back from the hospital the other day, that is why I haven't been on line recently. I started vomiting everything about 1 and 1/2 weeks ago and got really dehydrated and went into the hospital for 6 days. I have a "pinpoint stricture". So my hole exiting my pouch is the size of a pinpoint. Can't eat or drink anything. They put a PICC line in (central line) and am getting TPN for 12 hours every night for nutrition. There are some ulcers there, too.
I go for my first dilation tomorrow, they will make the hole about the size of a pencil eraser, then I will go back at least one more time to make it the size of a normal hole.
I am nauseous. But they are giving me IV meds and the nausea patch.
They expect me to gain weight but honestly I don't care, I just want to get better so I can get something down through my pouch.
Oh well. These things happen, right?
Hope everything is will with everyone else.
Jen
Hey Jen
How are you doing? I had my surgery on 2/23/06. I am really sorry you are going through what your going through. I don't think I would handle it well. Im happy you are doing better, and yes things happen. When it rains it pours..lol If you ever want to chat or anything Im here for ya...
Take care
Toni
Oh Jen,
I feel so bad that you had to go through all this. I have a co-worker who went through something similar and had TPN for awhile. She's doing amazing now and made it 5 pounds beyond her goal. She says even with the complications the end result was worth it and she only regrets not having done it sooner. So hang in there. It sounds like you have the right atitude. My thoughts and prayers are with you!
Toni (the OLder Toni).
Thanks guys. I am positive, because I will eventually be able to eat an drink. It just really sucks not to be able to right now, even though before it was mostly yogurt and soups.
I thank you all, you are wonderful, which is why I come back for support!
Kim and Julio, your new pictures are awesome! Haven't seen them in a while, you look great! I didn't even recognize your's Kim!
I will definitely be up in time for the picnic! (I would hope!)
