Lightheaded & Woozy Attack
Paul:
I went through a period when I was a year or so out where that was happening all the time. Not "gonna pass out" light-headness, but enough - and frequently enough - to concern me. It was not low blood sugar, low blood pressure or dehydration.
After a battery of tests (from head to heart and stuff in between), they found nothing and eventually it just went away. That's the part I hate the most.
(laughs) You know what I'm gonna tell ya, right? Call your doctor!

I have vasovagal syndrome, which is also called neurally mediated hypotension (the low blood pressure only happens during an attack). You get light headed, dizzy, black outs, and pass out.
I had my tilt table test to confirm it prior to surgery, and I am glad I did, cause it worsened after surgery.

Hi Paul,
Yes this very same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. The only difference is I actually passed out! I woke up on my kitchen floor- it was very scary! I had to get 11 stiches across my nose (I actually broke my nose too.) This has NEVER happened to me before. I have been through numerous tests and the Dr.'s haven't found a thing wrong with me. I finally got a few answers from my surgeon. He thinks it was due to dehydration as well as malnutrition. I make sure to drink as much as my pouch can hold. My advice- drink your fluids and make sure to get that checked out with your Dr.
Take care,
Christine
