Dr Barba's Lap Band Patient...please come in.
I"m soooo excited. All of my consult information is in to the doctors office and I was just told that I have a consult with Dr. Giovanni next Wednesday. It's finally happening!!!! I think I'm in the home stretch. Of course, the doctor has to approve me but I cannot imagine not being approved. However, I know that is a real possibility.
Anyway, I know that the next step is the meeting with her and then I get a tentative surgery date. Could you tell me how long you had to wait for your surgery date? I don't know what to expect. Am I looking at 8 months or 4 weeks. I sure hope it's sooner than later but I know how busy both she and Dr. Barba are. I guess I'm just so anxious to start this new life. All this warm weather just makes you want to shake off the cob webs of your life and start living!!!!! Sometimes I feel like I can't live another minute at this weight. But......I will just keep plugging along, eating healthy and staying positive.
Take care everyone!!!

Hi Gina - Exactly what Patty said my surgery was a month after meeting with Dr. Barba - have you gone to the first nutrionist class yet? After you get your appointment with the doctor you have to have an endoscopy and go to a second nutrionist class with your support person (and get a blood test that morning so go to the class early if you can so you can get the test before the class). Then you'll be told to go on liquids one week before surgery - but they'll tell you all about that at the classes - so it looks like you'll be banded in May!!
Congratulations!
Best Regards,
Tammy
Thanks Ladies. Wow, I'm really close to getting this done!!! It's all so real now. I am so ready for this!!!
In a month or so I'll be on the losing side!!!!
I feel like I'm 6 years old and my parents just told me we are going to Disney World!!! Hopefully I can convince myself the endoscope is just a real new interesting type of ride. hahahaha
Hugs to all.
