I am 13 days post op and I still have blood in my stools. Seven days post op the blood in the toilet turned the water dark red. Now there is blood coming off of the stools in the water. Is this normal have anyone eles have this happen? Ken

Hello Ken, You need to contact your surgeons office or go to the emergency room and have this checked. You may have something wrong, so don't take a chance with that. Good luck Hugs KimC

ummm you shouldn't have rectal bleeding at all? Just my semi-professional nurse opinion...... Ya might want to have that checked out. Could be as simple as hemmorhoids or as serious as GI bleeding.

Ken - I know my friend had blood in the beginning after bypass surgery but I don't know how long it was until it went away. Just to be safe call the surgeon and ask - it might be normal for some people - it might not - so you need to just call and check with them. I hope it's nothing and wish you the best. Tammy

Ken, I would definatly get this checked out as soon as possible. If it was just a little bleeding I would wait, but from what you are saying, I would be in a panic and want to find out whats up. Best of luck to you and I hope it is nothing serious, Hugs, Sarah
