Just when I was ready to pay out of pocket....

My insurance company changes their policy on Lap Band and it is now covered!! How cool is that!! I am so excited, I can't put it into words. All docs thought it was the best for me but my insurance wouldn't cover it. I called today to find out about the financing for the Lap Band and I could not believe that they called me back to tell me Aetna now approves Lap Band. My family was ready to give up everything so I could go with my gut feel and have the Lap Band. I am so excited for them because they don't have to give up everything for me!! I am almost there - PFT test on Monday and endoscopy to go (besides the 3 more months of nutritional counseling). Nancy K P.S. did I tell how excited I am!!!!

Thanks Julio! It sure was a great surprise!! Fairfield Bariatrics was telling me they had never had the Lap Band approved through Aetna. Well I guess my waiting paid off!! Can't wait to be on the loosing side! Nancy

Hey Nancy, Oh my GOSH!!!!! Your long long waiting came out worth!!!!! I know you prefer Lap Band over RNY. It is great for your family to give up everything for you and support this. It will be up and down i nthe road for you after Lap Band but with your family and friends supports, you will be on right track while you are using your tools then you will be successful like Bette is I am sooooooooooo HAPPY for you and let me know when is your big date!!!! Hi Kathy, Your right!! It was well worth my wait. Ever since I saw the endocrinologist and he confirmed my fears with my thyroid and neurological conditions that will not go away no matter how much weight I loose, I decided I really needed to go with my gut feel (resulting from lots of research), and have the Lap Band. I am just so excited it is covered now and my family won't have to give up a lot of things for my surgery. I will let you know when I get a date - it will be a while before I finish the madatory insurance stuff but I am getting there!! Love, Nancy

AETNA approved you for a LAB BAND????????? Somebody check the temperature in hell- it has to be below freezing down there!!!!! That's something!!!!!!! WOW!!! AETNA....I have to go put together my emergency shelter- apparently the world is ending today.....Incredible- Congrats!!!!
