Hi Everybody, I just read the page of Dr Aranow and noticed AA wrote this and want to paste this to our Ct Message board. I cannot tell you that Lisa C and AA inspired me when I was pre op patient and they were there to support me all the way until I had this WLS surgery. I know AA will be excellent trianer for all Gastric Bypass Patients and will help them to be successful if they keep their tools! Go for it AA I am proud of you ! SMILE! Hugs Kathy Hey all - thanks for all the ongoing messages especially around the time of my anniversary. (Ok, so I'm a little late in updating my page and responding to the many notes! Oopsies!) Anyway, life today is sooo different. Much like Maureen (a CT post-op) was saying at a recent pre-op meeting, I sometimes struggle to remember that former person I was. I remember mighty quickly when I see someone who is as heavy as I was and seems to be struggling to just smile and be ok. So painful to see. Anyway - today, I'm beginning to develop a program for pre-ops that enable them to get out there and move (in a fitness center with me 1:1) so that they can get ready for surgery as well as (ideally) to adhere to the mandate that they must lose 'x' amount of lbs pre-operatively. Then, for post-ops, I'm working on a program where I'd work with a group of no more than 4 newly-post-op folks and begin to build a fitness program that would familiarize them with equipment and begin to build a diverse fitness regimen to maximize that initial weight loss period. Seriously, who'd have thought I'D be doing something like this? My gym is already buying into it and I'm going to be getting certified to be a trainer in order to be able to work with my peers in this capacity. Still such a dream to me. I only want to work with gastric bypass patients as I feel this is a largely forgotten community of hard-working people who are making a huge change in their lives and I wish to support it. It also keeps me honest and that's important. What do you guys think? -- A A Here is her profile if you want to email her http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/members/status.php?N=A1095129600
