OK, this scares me, I can eat almost a normal meal size. What's going on here? What should I do to stop? I haven't gained a pound thank God, but I'm not dropping as fast as I used to be. Also, I can tolerate pretty much any type of food these days, except Soda or real sweet stuff (which I won't even touch). Can anyone help?

I could really eat if I wanted to, all kinds of foods including soda (which I don't bother with that often) and sweets (I had 4 cupcakes last weekend). I don't dump so its hard to convince myself that its a bad idea to eat things. The only thing I can do is tell myself that if I eat, I might gain weight. Sorry, I have no sage words of wisdom. But its not rare to be able to eat different kinds of foods after a certain point, you just have to have the willpower not to eat them. Its also not rare that the weight losing is slowing down. That happens to us all.

Hey Paul, we all slow down after 6 months or so. By then we should have taught ourselves how to eat to stay fit. The fact that you realize that your eating too much shows that you already know it. Now stick to it! WLS is a team effort not only with the modifications our bodies have had but also our eating habits. So if you have to, keep a "before" picture of yourself in your wallet and when your about to eat just look at it. Then look at yourself now. Bet that will make you want to keep that great look you have now. May want to take in a few support group meetings in as well. Our Doctors office has them as does Carla and Cris, so go for it. Its a battle we will be in for the rest of our days! Take Care, Julio

Hi Paul We were taught oursleves how to eat and do exercise for rest of our lives and are using TOOLS to stick with it. If I do not use my tools then I will go back my old way but I put stricter on me by not eating no carbs ( I do eat good carbs once a while but not everyday), put exercise 5 or 6 times a week to put peaceful for my head which I do have fears in back of my head is regain weight back. I am still using one of tools is using Ct Message board and go to support group to help me stick with my tools. You can go back on right track by using your tools and go to support group or call someone who had wls to talk with... We know that it is not easy way and know our doctors fixed our stomach. It is our jobs to work hard to eat right foods and exercise for rest of our lives. I do have before picture on my refrig. Every time I open the door from my refrig, I look at my before picture and it help me to remind to use tool before I put foods in my mouth. You will find something which help you to remind you to use one of your tools. You can do it and go back to use your tools SMILE Kim C and I are charging for WLS Picnic party on June 24th and hope you can join with us and meet new and old faces there! Take care, Kathy K

Hey buddy, I miss talking to you, I see your going through the same thing I am going through right now. There are days I feel the full sensation and there are days I don't and it scares me. I have come to a complete stop on my weight loss and I am 14 months out and not at goal yet. I feel for you. Stay away from the sweets, as much as you want them and can tolerate them its not a good habit to get back into. Believe me I know, I started to eat sugar free stuff and then started craving the real ones. I don 't want to get back into that again. Some people have a stronger toleration for things than others. I can't tolerate bread or meatballs or fried stuff. I throw up right away. I try not to eat anything to heavy either. Its hard but its a life long choice we have all made. Stick to your plan and if you still are concerned call Jessie at the office to find out what more you can do. I am trying lots and lots of solid proteins instead of liquid, lots of walking and I just got a new video from bariatric eating to do more exercise along with my exercise bike. We shall see. Give me a buzz sometime if you just want to chat. I am glad to see your back on the boards again. Also if your available on June 24th we are having a picnic at Hammonasset State Park in Madison. Alot of the OH Family here in CT are going and its going to be a blast. I would love to finally meet you and you can meet alot of wonderful people too. Take care and be strong, it will happen soon, thats what everyone is telling me. Hugs Kim Callahan

At the support meeting on Tuesday Doctor Barba was mentioning a procedure where they can make your opening a little smaller - the opening from your esophagus into your pouch - at least I think that's what he said - I forgot the medical term he used - he said it was an out patient procedure similar to an endoscopy and they just do a couple of small stitches........I wish I could remember it. Anyway - it might be another option for you - also believe it or not fear is on your side with this one - that's a good thing for you to keep you on the straight path....... Keep up the battle! Fat can't win! Best Regards, Tammy

Hi Paul, I am only 4 1/2 weeks out so I don't know if I can be of any help but what I have been tol is to use FEAR as a motivator. I know it sounds crazy but the fear of being big again would do it for me, I think! Good luck! Kristen

Its called Sclero and you are right it is done like an endoscopy but while he is down there they inject a soluation to promote the growth of scar tissue...very easy procedure and almost painfree... I've had it done twice and it works wonders! If you want more info, just ask! Jessica
