Good for you Paula! Can't wait to be there myself.I was looking at your stats and I'm pretty close to where you were at the start - I started my preop 6 mo diet and yeah that worked --like if it did I wouldn't be here. - anyway, I was 338 when I started I'm now at 316 and have 10 more days til surgery- I hope my journey is as successful as yours.

paula, i love your story, i too had a moment like that yesterday at wild oats. i saw my old yoga instructor, and i stood in front of her and said, hi barbara! she had no idea who i was! people have seen me and recognized me, and then said oh my god you look so different, but no one has not been able to tell who i was! it was so cool! now granted, it's been about a year since i've seen her, my surgery was oct 11, and since my highest weight, pre-op, as of today, i've lost 99 pounds. i didn't tell her that i'd done it thru weight loss surgery. partly becuz i just don't think, knowing her, she would be supportive of it, but also, the other day, i confided in my neighbor, when she went on and on how good i looked, and how'd i do it, i told her the truth, and she proceeded to tell me she knows two people who've had this surgery and they are both very sick... on and on she went. so i decided after that, i'm not going to be so forthcoming with who i tell... just wanted to share that with you. isn't it amazing? after researching for months, and then reading profiles and before and after pictures, i cannot believe it's actually my turn! good luck to you patty

Hey Paula, That is so wonderful hon, I am so happy for you. Hearing stories like this really inspire me and I am so proud to say I have had WLS. Its such a rewarding feeling to have people you know notice the change and tell you how wonderful you look. You need to take more photos sweetie to see how beautiful you are. Your a wonderful person and always there for alot of us here at OH. I am very grateful to know and chat with you. I hope to meet you some day to let you know in person. Hope you can make it to the Picnic in June, alot of us will be there and I know everyone would love to see you there. You keep up the good work and congratulations to you. Your doing great!!!! I know myself looking at my old photos and seeing myself now its a wonderful feeling and a long time coming. I feel so much better physically and seeing sizes I have not seen since highschool over 25 years ago is great too. You keep on doing what your doing and enjoy your beautiful daughter and family.
