I was unrecognizable!!!!!!

It's 6 months this week since surgery with Dr Aranow...I've lost (including the 19lbs pre op, 90 pounds).. I was in line at the store today and the cashier walked away to get me a book of stamps...I looked back into the line and a woman I recognized as my neighbor's mom says to me, "Where did he go?" I said, to get me a book of stamps...well, her mouth dropped to the ground and she says, "Paula, oh my Gosh, I did NOT recognize that it was you...you look TERRIFIC!" All this coming from the mother of a Victoria Secret's model! Yes, my neighbor is a former VS model and runway model in NYC and Europe... After we both checked out, we stood and chatted a bit and she told me that her niece had WLS...and I opened up and said, Well, Connie, that's what I had too! She thought it was fantastic. I told her that I don't tell too many people how I did it, that a lot of people pass judgement right away. But that the surgery literally has changed my life and saved it too. That I'm not on any more meds and feel great. She then said, "It is true when they say that losing a lot of weight knocks years off of your life, you look SO much younger!" And, that my 8 yr old daughter and I look alike now! Well, that's my WOW moment for today. It felt good. I'm happy. I have to have hubby take a picture of me. I've not had any pictures taken of me yet since pre op. I'm afraid to see the newer me. paula 330/311/240/175 starting weight/surgery day weight/today's weight/my goal for myself

YEAH for you !!!! You are doing great Paula keep up the good work!!! My dental hygenist was rather flattering to me- she remarked how good I looked- I of course had to tell her how I'd done it- given I had to update my health history and all. Which leads me to my next post.

WTG..... That is Awesome.. Isn't it a great feeling to have someone say something to you. I had that happen to me the other day also. Don't you wonder just how old you must have looked before if everyone says WOW you look so much younger now.. LOL Lisa
