Hi everyone! I haven't been on the board in awhile, but it's good to be back! I've had great success with the GB, but now I'm dealing with the excess skin(aren't we all!). I've started going to consults with plastic surgeons, however the issue for me is financing. I have a few thousand dollars I could use towards the surgery(I need a tummy tuck, breast aug,and lipo),but it's not going to be nearly enough to cover all the expenses, and I have problem credit. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to secure financing from a company, especially seeing as this kind of loan is considered unsecured(because they can't very well reposses your tummy tuck, lol). I have an acquaintance who also had surgery with Dr. Aranow, and she said that she heard Dr.A at a meeting saying not to worry about finding the money for the reconstructive surgery, that Middlesex hospital is aware that it's very necessary for GB patients and they'll let you go ahead with the surgery and you can just make monthly payments. So,basically, the hospital would kind of be financing you. Does anyone know if this is accurate? Does anyone know if any area hospitals will work out a deal with post-op patients? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks guys! ~Katie

Hi Katie, I am at that road as well. I have never heard of such!! I know that Dr A refferred me to Dr. Borkowski. Capitol One has a finance plan and if you go on line there are many companies that finance. If you hear any additional information regarding Middlesex doing plastic surgery , please post or e-mail me. It all depends on your credit and a lot of companies a lot will not let you use a co-signer. Some of the intrests are 23% and some are 5% depending on your credit. I met with Dr Borkowski and on the areas that are NOT covered and will never be, necklift, arms and thighs, it will be around 15,000. Now some of the surgery other than body lifts, can be done in his office and that will save thousands. If you hear anything differnet please let me know, as this is the most depressing part of the surgery. All the surgery that I am having as well as the TT, I am having done in his office and that is 8,000 opposed to 15,000 in a hospital. Hope that this helps!!! BlkNectar

Hi Katie, I met Dr Borkowski and I do not feel comfortable to have TT and Breast lift in his office instead of hospital and the price was pretty high and I cannot afford for it. Our WLS MaryJo told me to go see Dr Goodkind in New Haven and He did an excellent job on her TT and do care about his paitents. I met him in a month ago. He is very nice, honest, and loves his job very much to help his patients feel good about themselves. All of the costs for hospital overnight, breast lift, TT , Anesthesis Fee and Facility Fee are $14,500.00 but Dr Goodkind will summit my paperwork to my insurance company in May which I have bad rashes and documents from my doctors for medical reason but I know I might have to pay for breast lift. I really like Dr goodkind and he made me feel comfortable and can trust him to do mine. I am planning to have TT and breast lift this August after enjoying funs with my family, Friends and my kids! Here is Dr Goodkind s phone number for his office (203) 624-5536. i am sure MaryJo will tell you about him when she reads your post message. Good luck for your researching.

I think your friend needs to get her hearing checked. No, the hospital will not do it. Period. They are a business, and if you don't pay or have the arrangements made beforehand, they will send you to collections. Not the way you would want to spend the rest of your life. Peter
