I'm Stressing!

Ok, many of you may not remember me, it's been awhile since i've posted. I've been going through all my testing and 'trials' for my revision Gastric Bypass since October 2005. I was told my insurance company would not give me a problem (bc/bs - i work for the state). Finally had last consult with Dr. Barba 2 weeks ago and he gave me the go ahead to have my surgery on April 3rd. Man was i excited! Then he told me the date was tentative because we had to wait for insurance approval. Well i nearly fell off the exam table! I thought that was already taken care of! He said it will take two weeks for approval and not to worry. Well, i called the office today (2 weeks after appt') and i was told revision approvals take a month! That means my surgery may be pushed back! This is driving me crazy because i've had to make so many arrangements at my job to get the time off starting April 3rd! Are there any 'revision' people out there? And how long did it take for you to get word about an approval. What insurance did you have?? Sorry for the long message guys, thanks for reading this far Stacey

I hear that BC/BS for the state is better at approvals because it is a large population plan, so you have less to worry about in terms of getting approved, you just need to BE approved in order to have surgery, you know? I know how you feel, honey, trust me, I had started the process in March 2005 and didn't have surgery until 2/06 and that was AFTER I thought I was going to be approved and then didn't and had to finance it myself. You have a better situation than I did, so you have more of a waiting game, but just wait it out. Hopefully work can be understanding about timing. Once you are done, you have all the time in the world. Jen
