*Crash* (OT)
So I am sitting at home last night, all proud that I finally bought a cell phone before the world ended, watching some silly movie with Kevin Spacey on the sci-fi channel, when there is a creaking sound coming from the kitchen...
*crash*
My cabinet over the dishwasher came down, with most of my dishes, glasses, and coffee mugs. All the glasses from college- gone. Amazingly, it missed everything on the counter as it fell.
Truthfully, it didn't scare me as much as alarm other people in the house- it's just another thing in life. The irony is that I made a comment the day before about how that cabinet seemed to be "further off" the wall... Note to self: Pay attention to your instincts!
Dave
Oh man!! Thank GOD there wasn't anyone standing infront of that cabinet when it let go.............
Pay attention to that note from self - it will NEVER send you in the wrong direction!
Congratulations on getting a cell phone - my husband absolutely refuses to get one - he argued with me about keeping mine with him when I had my surgery.......he has never liked phones - I will not accuse him of being Graham Bell reincarnated (that is the guy who invented phones right?)...Now you just have to get the cool "borg" ear piece and wear it around all the time like me! Except nobody can see the earpiece because of all my hair and when I'm on the phone out in public, people thinking I'm insane and talking to myself!
Warm Regards,
Tammy
Hey Dave,
Oh boy, that would of scared the bejesus out of me!!!!! Sorry to hear about the mishap. So much for sturdy cabinets.
I saw that movie a couple of weeks ago, very intense. The acting was fantastic.
A cellphone, congratulations on your getting with the times. LOL
Have a great day buddy.

Well Dave, Thankfully no one got hurt and thats the important thing! You also seem to have the "Listen to your instincts" part down as well! And you now have a "Cell Phone". You have had a busy weekend! Take care and make sure you use 3 inch screws to put that cabinet back up and that you screw into wall studs! I had that happen at our first condo but When I noticed that the cabinet was a tad off the wall I got to it before it fell.Take Care and don't forget to set up your phones "Voice Mail"! Julio!
Dave Dave Dave -
I'm glad no one got hurt and sorry you lost your college mementos.
And what are you like the last person on the planet to get a cell phone? I hear even kids have them these days! LOL...
I'm just guessing here, but sounds like you have a little procrastination going on eh??? Note to self: don't put off until tomorrow...yada yada...
Good luck with the cell and the new cabinet!
Hugs,
Carla

The long running joke is that my 6-year old nephew would likely get one before I did. Of course, he is a little alpha male who already has a dozen girlfriends too.
As far as the rest of it goes... even before I left California I was in the habit of periodically throwing stuff out. I am not overly worried about what got lost.
