B12???
Colleen -
You should have documentation from your surgeon or nutritionist on their recommendations for B-12.
I personally use Twinlab Micro Sublingual dots that are 500 mcg each. I used to take one a day but my B-12 actually went too high, so I'm down to 2x/week. But you should check with your doctor to be sure of what you need and to have that level monitored periodically.
Good luck - be well!

Colleen,
Dr Aranow wants us to take 1000mcgs of the sublingual B12 DAILY...
I buy the Bariatric Advantage sublingual either from his office for 8 bucks a bottle or online for about the same...
I know that a lot of the info they gave us pre op says to take it weekly, but in one of the last newsletters, within his own article, he stated that he wants all of his patients to take it daily to prevent deficiency of B12. And also to make sure the calcium is in citrate form.
Hope this helps...congrats on your 55 lbs gone!
Paula
Hi Colleen,
This is really something that is individual. Dr A should be able to tell you how much B12 to take by looking at your bloodwork results. As Paula said, he did write in a newsletter that we should take it everyday, however when I asked him about that, he said that more times than not, people tend to need B12 more than once a week, but it really depends on individual needs. My levels seem to be fine and I only take 2 sublinguals once a week and he told me to continue that regimen.
Congrats on the great progress you are making!! Keep up the great work.
