Just a couple of questions.

Now that I'm almost a year out and about 160 pounds lighter I was wondering if any of you folks have noticed a couple of things. First off, when I get up from sitting my butt hurts, Am fine in a few moments, was just wondering if it is happening to anyone else. Second question, I have noticed that I'm not as cold as I was earlier in my "Journey". Do our bodies get used to our weight loss and start regulating our heat better? Was just wondering if anybody else is going thru this. Thanks, and Be Well, Julio

Hey Julio! I think the butt problem is b/c you have less butt to sit on! lol I asked about this before and was told that it has something to do with the pressure on the muscles down there that are used to more cushion between you and the chair. About being cold, I am less cold than I was early on but still constantly freezing. If you aren't as cold maybe there is hope for me in the coming months! Have a nice weekend!

Hi Julio, I just had a complete physical last week & asked the same questions. My PCP stated that it's my "tail bone" not having the cushion it used to have. My feet are a little warmer than at the beginning but my hands are still cold & at times I just cannot warm up! She stated it was from losing all the "insulation" that I had before and it will take awhile for my body to adjust itself to having no more padding for warmth. I had an interesting conversation about less "desire" to be intimate. For us ladies..our fat held estrogen...so losing all the weight/fat was a HUGE loss in estrogen...so basically the "off" periods..less sexual drive etc...is due to all the hormones that help these areas going "bye bye" along with the weight. She said that it's like I'm "pre menopausal" with all the symptoms but not really going through it...UGH!! She said this will also catch up and straighten itself out on it's own once my weight & body stabilize. I'm glad I went for the check up as it really made me feel better emotionally with all of what my body has gone through. I had a TON of blood work done too & should be hearing about it's results also. I'm over due for my blood work with Dr. Barba (I was due in November) so I had his done at the same time. Crossing my fingers it comes back all positive. I'll be a year out late April & can't wait to go to my 1 year check up with Dr. B. then hopefully onto a tummy tuck... It's funny Julio..it sounds like alot of us have the same symptoms & cycles during the course of our journey. It's nice to know we're all going through it together & can share our experiences. 160 pounds is AMAZING....IN A YEAR!! you must feel incredible! I'm in awe....each time I read a success story...& see people years out keeping the weight off...& living life! It's an amazing ride & I'm glad I'm on board! Take Care, Mickey

When I stand up , I'm fine. It's during the sitting that my tailbone hurts. I can't even really say it's my butt, since there ain't much left back there. As for the cold, nope. I'm still cold, all the time, 'cept in summer, of course. Bette

Welcome to on losing sides!!!!! That is how we have our tailbone hurt! Our butts do not have much there but I rather to feel that way than before I was very overweight. I am cold all the time and feel the same thing what Bette said during summer time. Kathy K

Hey buddy, I feel the same thing too. I think its due to less insulation on our bodies. My hands and feet are always frozen. I hope this goes away eventually. And my butt hurts sometimes too. We shall see, maybe its just a faze we are going through on our journey. Hugs KimC

Hey Julio, I get the sore butt syndrome also. I thought that my body was get more regulated to the cold temps, but the kids are always begging me to turn the heat down in the car and I seem to be the only one who needs double blankets at night. So I don't know if I just don't feel as cold or that I am more used to it and now know how to prepare. Pre surgery I could have worn t'shirts every day I was so hot all the time. I have some sweaters now that I wouldn't have even considered wearing before. Just an aside, I was wearing a pair of jeans today and realized how far i have really come when I was able to put my thumb in my back pocket and my forefinger in my front! that was a pretty cool feeeling terri

Hi folks! Thanks everybody for the input. Nice to compare from time to time. Helps us all get thru some interesting facets of our "Journey". So much has changed since we started it. We are all the same people on the inside, but to look at pictures of myself. Find it quite amazing what this surgery had done for all of us. All you ladies look wonderful and should be proud of yourselves for what you have achieved! Bless you all! Julio
