I have a favor to ask of all my new found friends. I have been out of work since April 2005, unemployment has long since run out and I am surviving (barely) on whatever temp jobs I can find. I am now looking for a second job (nights and weekends). My COBRA premiums are $496.65 a month, that is in addition to my mortage. My savings is now very low, I may have to drop my health insurance soon. I don't want to loose my home, but I may have no choice. I am a Purchasing Agent with a strong background in accounting (A/P, A/R, some payroll, credit and collections). I am also a full charge bookkeeper. I also hold 2 A.S. degrees. It seems no one wants to hire a 45 year old fat guy. Do any of you know of anyone or place that is hiring? I am willing to travel to wherever the job is. I need something full time/permanate with health insurance. Sorry for the long sob story, but things are getting critical and I am desparate. Any help, suggestions, prayers are appreciated! --==Richard==--

I've got my resume posted on Monster.com and Careerbuilder.com. On sunday between the 2 sites I applied for 8 jobs, no word yet. Its been like that for the last 11 months. I get an interview here and there but no offers. Employers do not want to hire a fat person.

Go on www.ct.gov and scroll to the left, choose "state agencies" and pick Dept of administrative services, "new jobs"...I think I saw some payroll postings,,,,,In any case, they have great insurance for their employees....good luck.... Dorota

Hello, I know from working at Aetna for 9 years before that they are FOREVER hiring temps. You can call 273-0123 and ask for Bunny Webster she is in the Temp office. That is the best way to get in there. You start out as a temp then go to Perm.. I hope this helps.
