I went to Dr. B for pain and bulge around my belly button. He comfirmed what I suspected "Hernia" I am going to get a tt. I figured if he is going to be in that area he might as well. I left his office sure and secure with my perscription for pain and promise of a flatter belly. So what is the problem? The Painnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!! It started Friday afternoon and has not gone away. Ive taken Perc, motrin, mega tylenol. The pain gets a little better but comes back with a vengence. I hate going to the emergency room. Last time I was there for 12 hours. I can barely walk. What sould I do? Blessings Splendalicious PS. I know I am going to have to go to the emergency. It could be something else. You guys are just so understanding and supportive. I had to post Thanks

Hey Girl, If your hurting that bad you need to have it checked out! My wife had an umbilcal hernia and it stuck out but it didn't hurt so you need to have it looked at. Sorry to hear your in such pain. Take care of yourself and lets hope they can do something about it! Good Luck, Julio

In October of last year, I had a hernia fixed at the same time as a TT. I healed up pretty fast. Four weeks ago, I had terrible stomach pain, turns out the small intestine lodged in a spot that cut off the blood supply (internal hernia). I had one foot of bowel removed. The pain was so intense that I had to go into the ER. It was a good thing I did, I had surgery the next morning. From what I found out, this is frequent occurence with gastric bypass patients. If the pain gets worse or persists, you should consider getting to the ER. --Steve

Mortin??? An NSAID?? Not a good thing to take. If the pain is that bad, it's time to get to the ER. BTW, hate to burst your bubble, but a hernia is not a guarantee of a TT. They will pay for the hernia to be repaired, but you will still have to meet themedical guidelones to have the TT. BUT, if you chose to have it done and pay for it, you can do it at the same time as the hernia repair and it would be less costly. If the pain is still there, go! Peter

if the pain is that bad the hernia could have incarcerated- and you need to go to the ER- to look into that. If the hernia incarcerates- it means instead of sliding in and out of the hernia area the bowel gets stuck and loses blood flow and then you get a necrotic bowel and emergency surgery......have you moved your bowels lately?
