Healthnet-Healthy Options

Hi all A girl at work is looking into lap band. She has Healthnet-Healthy Options through the State. Do you know if any of the doctors in the area accept this? Also, are their any lap banders who would be kind enought to talk to her if I gave you here phone #. She does not own a computer. Any information I can pass along to her would be helpful. I am going to bring her to a support group meeting in the next month or so... Thanks Joanie

Hi Joanie: I just got off the phone w healthnet, those lovely charming wonderful people, gastric bypass is no longer a covered procedure for them, at all. They say that they'll cover lap band and adjustments, but I would take that with a grain of salt, and whatever other spices you like. How has your friend made out so far?? They just told me that my abdominoplasty would have been covered if my doctor had included it as part of my recovery from gastric bypass two and a half years ago. Aren't they great?? Healthnet is not really one of my favorite companys right now, can you tell???? It was great to finally meet you at the dance, I'm hoping there's a new picture on your posts soon.
