Welcome home Ken!!! You've finally joined us on the losers bench!! I'm so glad to hear you're doing well except for the gas. But that's to be expected. Everyone gave you great advice...walk, walk, walk. Also, if you're laying down, lay on your side and bring your knees up towards your chest (if you're able to). That helps relieve it too. Nectar and AchievOne are the only two protein drinks I can tolerate. I use the Nectar Roadside Lemonade and mix it with 1/2 cup lowfat milk and 1/2 cup Yoplait light yogurt (like Key Lime Pie). Put it in the blender and it's great. But at this stage, don't stress too much about getting all your protein in. Only do what you can tolerate. I lived on homemade chicken broth and sf jello the first week. And, just like you, anything warm/hot was tolerated easier than anything cold. So just take one day at a time right now and focus on healing!! Keep emailing me with any questions. I'll be around all weekend in case you need help. Kim K.
