This is my first day of protein drinks and I couldn't even get one down and I should be on my 3rd. I bought powder from GNC I tried mixing it with crystal light any other suggestions? Is there something out there thats not totally disgusting? Toni

This is one of the hardest things to answer. Everyone has such varying tastes. My favorites: - IsoPure Glass bottle drinks (I like Blue Raspberry, Apple Melon and Alpine Punch) - Myoplex Ready to Drink Shakes (I like Chocolate Fudge - I LOVED Cafe Caramel but thats been discontinued) - AcheivOne Coffee Drinks (Yummy, but has caffeine so need to limit intake) The key is to keep experimenting until you find something you like. And you'll find your tastes will change as you go along. Good luck!!! Hugs, Carla ObesityHelp Support Group Leader

Hey Toni, If you can try the Atkins Protein shakes, they smell grose but are awesome, especially the caffe latte ones. Also the Isopure drinks are really great. If not there is the Protein powder mix on bariatriceating.com you can mix will milk that are good too ProteinDelite strawberry is the best. Hope this helps. Hugs KimC

I couldn't STAND any of the "flavored" stuff either. I got Unjury unflavored protein powder and put it into Lipton Cup Of Soups- Cream of Chicken worked best.

toni, unflavored unjury is what did the trick for me. i mixed it with soups, and even made my own protein drinks with skim milk, or soy milk, some decaffinated instant coffee, and a little splenda. all the other stuff was too sweet. there is a product by a company called biochem, they have a whey drink mix called peaches and cream. i like it becuz it's not sickeningly sweet. it's subtle. you can get it at good health food stores, like, wild oats, garden of light, or vitamin shoppe. good luck!

My recent fav has been the slim fast low carb protein shake. It comes in Choc., Vanilla & Strawberry and it is yummy, although it has like 9 grams of fat per serving so I don't drink it often. But it does have 20 grams of protein. But in general I find that if you mix any milk based protein drink with decaf coffee & add splenda, it improves the taste alot. Good luck and don't worry, if you are anything like me your tastes will change as you get further out and you will be able to enjoy it more.

I have to third the Unjury vote. I am about 2 weeks post op and I can ONLY choke down Unjury. I have tried everything else and I almost vomited. Really. JUST MHO. Jen

I'm doing okay with the unjury I have both the chocolate and the vanilla - they have a recipe that says to let some diet orange soda go flat and mix it with the vanilla for a dreamcyce flavor - I'm going to try it because it sounds pretty good - you just have to experiment - otherwise get yourself the unjury unflavored and just mix it in with stuff you can tolerate - you'll get the extra protein and you won't have to taste anything! Keep trying Toni - You'll find the answer soon enough! How are you doing otherwise? Best Regards, Tammy
