I JUST DISCOVERED THAT I HAVE A BULGE THE SIZE OF A HANDBALL IN MY BELLY BUTTON AREA (WELL WHAT USED TO BE MY BELLYBUTTON AREA) I HAVE BEEN HAVING PAIN LOWER DOWN FOR SEVERAL MONTHS BUT ALL THE TEST CAME BACK NEGATIVE. NOW THIS HAPPENS. MY QUESTION IS THIS: DOES THIS MEAN THAT I SHOULD START THINKING ABOUT GETTING A TT DONE WITH THE HERNIA REPAIR (IF THAT'S WHAT IT IS) OR NOT? I HAVE A BAD HISTORY WITH WOUNDS OPENING UP AND REFUSING TO CLOSE. SO I AM A LITTLE SCARED HERE. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH DR. B AT THE END OF THE MONTH I DON'T KNOW IF I SHOULD MOVE IT U*****T BLESSINGS SPLENDALICIOUS

Hi Splenda, It sounds like a hernia. When I went for my 6 mnth check up, Dr. G saw me due to Dr. Barba being away. She noticed on my left side upper chest that I was developing one (Next to my surgical scar). It was small at the time & wasn't bothering me. Now is a little different it's constantly feeling "Twingy" and feels like it's pulling. Laughing makes it go into overdrive. Working out and doing anything physical on that side also bothers it. I'm also looking at having a TT tuck done and Dr G mentioned having the hernia taken care of at the same time...but I'm thinking I won't be able to wait that long to have the hernia taken care of. I go back in April to see Dr. Barba for my 1 year check up. Please let me know how you make out with Dr. Barba, I have heard that both operations TT/Hernia repair can be done at the same time. If it's causing you pain & discomfort you really need to get it fixed for your well being & sanity. There is a lady that goes to CURVES where I work out that had a lower hernia in her tummy. It was HUGE and was very uncomfortable. She had it recently removed and she looks like she a million bucks now. Best wishes at your appointment, Mickey

They can be done at the same time but remember for the insurance companies to pay for the TT, you have to follow their guidelines...Here are some of them, but please check with your insurance companies for your SPECIFIC policy. you must be at least 18 months post op you must be at a stable weight for at least 2 months you must have lost at least 100 lbs you must be able to document traditional methods of dealing with rashes and so forth. Any questions, call me... Jessica 6 days until full abdominalplasty!
