WATCH OUT FOR GOOGLEABILITY

I had a friend who was being assailed by someone via email and I stepped in and emailed this person- well the person- who has never met me said some rather unkind things in retort to me- that intimated they knew I was overweight- which is impossible to know from email - ya know? SO on a hunch I Googled my self- and sure enough there it was- number one on the list- my profile on OH for her and the whole world (well anybody who Googles me) to see. SO in an effort to keep what is said here in here I have taken my name off the profile- I am no longer Bernadette McBride....well I am - just not here LOL. I know I know my new screen name is long- but you got admit its unique!!!!

I was wondering who the heck Momoffour Notgonnabefatanymore was! From here on in you are *Momo* to me. T.

Yeah, mine comes up too...I'm not so sure that changing our username will knock it off though...maybe in time it will, but once those search "robots" grab a hold of our name, it keeps it! You may ask google if they'll take it off... paula

How awful for you Bernadette.. You have to wonder what is wrong with someone who would write mean things to a stranger about her weight issues, all under the cloak of anonymity. Sicko. I called myself "Mary M" from the beginning because I did not want anyone outside this forum to be able to google me. It bothers me a lot that my instincts were right. So how's it going Momo? "Mary"

Isn't that scarey!? That's one of the main reasons why I don't use my last name on the computer at all, and searching for "CJ" or even "Carol Jean" is too broad, so those are okay, thankfully.

Thanks so much for this information, I will change my name also. To Arlen Potter (because I'm a potter.) I have't been posting to this board for long, so thi**** didn't turn up in my Google search, although I was surprised by the number of hits, Yikes!

Yeah.... I noticed this too when I googled my surgeon and all the comments that his patients had posted about him on this board, including mine were right there for all to see including pictures!!!. Soooo.... I have to say that I blame this site/message board for lack of privacy. I am so glad now that I never posted my picture or used my last name on this site..... Shame on OH!!
