Hi Dave, Last weekend, I was at my brother in law's retirement party and when it was time for the toast, I took four or five sips of the champagne and I had the biggest buzz!!!!! I had a glass of wine this week and the same thing.. These were the first alcohol drinks I've had since surgery in Sept... I'm a cheap date...small meals, little drinks. The waiter at Olive Garden came up to us this evening and offered us a sample of wine...just the inch of it in the glass gave me a good buzz!!! I'm NOT becoming an alcoholic, but I could if I start to drink often. Did you know that Mike's Hard Lemonade, and all other wine coolers, etc. don't have any hard liquor in them? They're all "malt beverages" and are some form of beer. I found that interesting when another brother in law (who owns several wine and spirit shops around New Haven and surround area) told me. Anyways...they'd have to pull me over after 5 sips for a DUI! paula

I have forgotten -- is Mike's carbonated? I find it hard to choose a drink because I don't drink carbonated beverages, so anything with a lot of soda or beer is out, the high sugar drinks just scare me -- I'd hate to find myself dumping in the middle of a party, although I did experiment with a vodka collins last weekend --- okay I experimented with 3 vodka collins and I didn't even get a buzz. Over the holidays, I drank 3 glasses of wine during the course of an evening and again, hardly felt it. Hmmmph! that figures. terri the bottomless pit

Hi Dave, Before Gastric bypass I could have about 7 or 8 drinks in order to get buzzed and maybe one or two more to really fall off the rocker. WELL, now if I have almost one glass of wine I am soo buzzed, if I have 3.....well....wow......it knocks me off my feet almost. I defintley have changed since wls......I don't drink...I try and stay away from it, but if I am at social functions, I will have 1 maybe 2....and maybe one more if someone else is driving. I have not tried anything carbonated yet.....I have stayed away from carbonation for 2 years....but anything else I can drink. I used to LOVE Mike's Hard Lemonade, and also the tea ones....those are great...and I think there is a cranberry flavor one too I used to love! Tonight...since you brought this up...I am going to try what Bethany on here told me about...Baccardi and Crystal light. I will see how much it takes me too feel something and get back to you! Now that you brought this up I am curious.......LOL Have a great weekend! Kimmie C. put you on our dance card, so i will be seeing you at the dance! MaryJo

Hi Dave, Count me in!!!! hahahaha I drink almost every weekend with our friends.....we all get together and rotate who's house we go to. We also rotate who the DD will be, which works out very nicely. I am a HUGE redwine drinker but like MaryJo mentioned I just fell inlove with Bacardi and Raspberry Peach Crystal Light......the one that has the calcium in it, its thicker and tastes better..........they are soooooooo good!!!!!! I can drink about 3-4 and get a nice happy buzz I am bringing the crystal light to the dance and will order the bacardi and water from the bar..............yup party girl before surgery, party girl after surgery........but I always know when to say when and I never ever ever drive................my life, my children and other drivers mean way to much to me to make a idiototic mistake like that. ~Bethany

I am sooo looking forward to meeting everyone and having a great time! I defiantly do not need drinks to have a good time.... I sure hope those that do have drinks, do it carefully... Experimenting scares me... lets not be too competative out there! See Ya There! Sweet Mammy
