::sighs:: slightly annoyed
So Dr. Giles nurse called me and told me I have to show that I have been on a medically supervised weight loss program for 6 months for approval thur my insurance, now I have to try to find that Dr. from years ago that I was stupid enough to try the Phen Fen crap with. Im calling my PCP this morning as well. Their program at New Britain General is VERY expensive and not covered at ALL with my insurance, SAGA. So Im slightly annoyed and more than a lil discouraged. I WOULD love to go to the gym and work out like I used to... but if climbing the DANG stairs hurts, and walking home from work leaves me with shin splint type of pain... WHAT the HECK would the gym do to me, pain wise? Ya know?!?
Thanks for the great welcome from ya'll ::smiles:: Youve made me feel very welcome.

Well, I don't think changing doctors is going to fix anything for you, unless of course you're unhappy. You Dr. doesnt have control over your ins. requirements.
I know how frustrated you must be. This can be a difficult process to get through in order to get approval- but it WILL be worth it in the long run! Promise!
Just a thought- I'd start seeing your PCP NOW -just in case- for a monthly dietary check- get him to write you a perscription fo rwhatever the heck WL drug they are pushing now a days and weigh in. Better safe than starting from scratch two months from now when you find out Dr. Phen-Fen (LOL) isn't going to be able to find your med. records or moved out of state or retired, or the like.
hang in there and just think of the REWARD at the end!
Best,
