WLS Dance - Mar. 4th
Hi, All!
Since my last post about the dance no longer appears on the front page of our message board, it's time to post again. Our Spring Gala is just 2 wks. from tomorrow. It's the 2nd annual WLS Spring Gala and will be held on Sat., Mar. 4th, from 7 p.m. till midnight. This is a fundraiser for A.S.B.S., just like the Walk from Obesity which is held annually in Sept. Once again this year the dance will be at Il Monticello (on the Meriden-Wallingford line). For $20 per person, we get a DJ and bountiful hors d'oeuvres. There'll be enough variety (including high-protein selections) and quantity to be dinner, even for non-ops. There'll be a cash bar and, like last year, there'll be non-carbonated, non-caffeinated, non-alcoholic, low-calorie choices (besides water) for those who want them.
The dance is open to everyone, even if they have no idea what WLS is. (Since it's a fundraiser, we'll take money from anyone.)
Last year we had a pretty good turnout from this board; hopefully even more will come this year. Please tell your friends, too. Some people are coming with significant others, but there are plenty who'll be coming alone, so don't hesitate to come either way.
Tickets will be available at some of the support group meetings in the area (and at Dr. Aranow's office) and Carla Minutillo and I also have tickets for sale. If you're interested, let Carla or me know and we'll figure out whether you should mail a check or if you might be seeing one of us at a meeting.

P.S. The tables seat 8 people and last year we reserved several tables together for this board. Not that we were sitting all the time, but it made it easier to meet, mingle and catch up with each other. I'll be reserving some tables again this year, so if you want to sit with us (or want a table for you and the group of friends you're bringing along), let me know.
Hi, Towanda!
Here are the answers:
2. I don't see why we shouldn't be able to make requests to the DJ. Of course there's no guarantee that he'll have what you want to hear, but he may.
1. If you go back a few screens on this board to 2/7 at 6:06 p.m., Terri C. has a post called "Gala attire...". Reading that and the replies should give you some idea of what to wear, or confuse you...
Your tickets will be in the mail Tues.
See you in 2 wks.,
Debby
I have seen talk about the dress code some time ago...
Seems people wear what they want, and what is comforatable to them.
I heard its NOT BLACK TIE....
I for one love to get dressed up (I have such rare occassion for it)
So I will wear a dress (omg, and MAKEUP!) and Jim will probably wear a suit (although I am sure he will take his jacket off)
I am so excited! this is gonna be so much fun!
(I love playing dress-up!)
Sweet Mammy
First of all.. YOU...would NEVER embarrass any of us...
to the contrary my dear...
How very proud *I* am to have met you and then have the privilege to watch you emerge as you make your way down the path to bringing yourself to the woman you can be!
Makeup and Jewelry? We have to do that TOO? teehee.
I will try to be a girly-girl for one night.
Need a fairy-godmother! and a few mice and birdies to get this pupppy dressed!

Awwwwww...right back atcha sweetie!! You always make me feel so good about myself!!
You so DO NOT need a fairy godmother!! You looked mighty cute in that outfit at the Christmas party!! You've got such a cute figure you can wear anything, including those cute little skirts!! I know what I'm wearing, now I just need the shoes and I hate heels!! I'll be shopping this week for sure. Any ideas on what you're wearing yet?
Happy Sunday!! You guys feel like doing the pre-op in Stamford on the 27th?
