sorry to hear about your hypoglycemia....I too am having a problem with it, with me its related to dumping....Be careful, I actually passed out twice because my blood sugar got so low so quickly....In general, it is a good idea to make sure you eat something every 3 hours...should include protein....also, carry glucose pills or something else that has sugar (orange juice works fast), so if your blood sugar gets too low you can get it back up quickly.)of course, if sugatr causes you to dump, this might be tricky)....But in general, eating every three hours, which basically means small snacks inbetween meals, should help... Oh well, good luck, I hope this is the kind of feedback you were looking for. Love, Dorota

A number of us who participate in the general post-op meeting at Norwalk Hospital (second Monday of every month at 6 p.m. in the Patio Room) have had a similar problem. The studies all seem to give different reasons for why-- some suggest that it happens most to people who have been very vigilent and then go off their regimine, other studies suggest that it is not true hypoglycemia, but rather an accute sensitivity to dips in blood sugar levels that many others tolerate well. Consistent eating, sticking with protein and avoiding concentrated carbs all seem to help.
