Hi Cynthia, Just a point of clarification. You will NOT be under "general" anesthesia. That's when they put you under and have to intubate you, which of course would be impossible for an endoscopy. They will use what is commonly referred to as "twilight sleep", which means you will have no recollection of the procedure. The only pain you MAY experience is some possible neck pain from how you are positioned during the exam. I have had 3 endo's and only had the neck pain the last time. Two visits to my chiropractor took care of it. Really very minor. Best of luck, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you! Patrique

Hi Cyndee, You are in a twilight sleep - I actually can hear the dr. and nurses speak when I have mine done (I have a hiatal hernia so I have them done once every 3 years). I feel no pain and don't remember much (except some of the conversation for some reason!). It will be a breeze and overwith before you know it! Relax, nothing to get nervous about and I get nervous about everything!! Best, Nancy K

Hi Cyndee, You can check out my profile. It was simple and no pain at all. I got dizzy as they were putting me out, but then I was being woken up. I didnt know a thing. They have you eat something and drink something before you leave, but thats it. Its a nice easy one. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Bree
