endoscopy???
Hiya Cyndee.. I also have mine scheduled for tomorrow at 3pm. From the instructions I received there are no solids allowed after midnight and then only clear liquids up to 4 hours before procedure. I know I will be put under general anesthesia and expected to stay there for around 1 1/2 hours. Have to have a ride home because of the sedation they put you under. The exam is performed with a narrow, flexible instrument and allows your doctor to visualize your esophagus, stomach and duodenum. From what I hear it isn't so bad. You may have a slight sore or scratchy throat afterwards. Let's compare notes tomorrow evening! Angie : )
lol oh.. the pain.. I'm HOPING that will be minimal!!! I havent really heard of any horror stories except I think I read on here of someone who woke up from anesthesia half way through??? I may be mistaken. I don't think it's much to worry about though. I think I'm clam up now and watch for responses as well. lol Angie : ) I will be going to Bloomfield to get mine done, how about you?
Hi Cynthia,
The endoscopy is a piece of cake. When I had mine it only took about 15 min. They put you out, but when it is over you wake right up. It is as if you just awoke from the night. I didn't have a sore throat and could eat anything right after. There was NO pain what so ever. So don't worry about it. You will be fine. Good Luck and Relax.
