Well, "it" finally happened to me
Thank you all for your kind and encouraging words. I think it was definately an "eye-opener" for me because up until this point I really felt no different...don't get me wrong, I have great restriction and notice my portion size has decreased immensely but I was able to eat all types of food, pasta, bread, pizza, steak all with no problems. Now I will really think about what is going in my mouth! I also agree that once you throw up you become VERY aware of your stomach signals when you are eating (which I think I ignored previously. ) In any case, this is just a learning experience in my journey & I would not get rid of my band just because I "tripped and stumbled". Still in love with my band but I have a greater respect for it that's all! Thank you again for everyone's time and thoughts. This website has been (and continues to be) a great community and a source of strength for me. Take care of yourselves!

Hi Michelle -- I have learned that for me its safest not to order certain things when I am out -- I try to stick to fish or something softer, because I have also had experiences like yours in a restaurant and it is just no fun!!! I find that if I have a bad episode like yours, that if I make my next meal be a warm liquid -- soup and teas, I am usually much better. the can swell the opening and the warm liquids for me at least help the swelling go down. good luck!! My hubby and 3 boys are taking me out to Friendlys for my "romantic" Valentines dinner and I guess now I know one thing I should avoid!! Thanks!

Kristin, I LAUGHED OUT LOUD when I read your post! I agree- stay away from the sirloin tips! That is what I love about this site, everyone's input is either informative, funny, encouraging or all of the above! I actually did what you said (post-episode) about the hot soups and such. That did make my stomach feel settled without being too much for it to handle. I will also take your advice about my food choices while eating out-that make alot of sense. Thank you for your time and for the laugh! I wish you a very happy valentines day with your guys...that is what life is all about! I am trying to convice my guys to buy me a heart-shaped carvel ice cream cake!!!! LOL!
