I am a candidate

I guess it's good news in a way. I just learned today that I am a good candidate for WLS. Now I have to get on my and make all those appointments to get started on my workup. It was explained that I would be a better candidate for a lap band than RGY because of my age; however, it is my decision to make. I have to be aware that any complications that may arise may have a higher risk of being fatal than that of a younger person. Wish me luck on my tests.

Congratulations!! Good luck on all your tests! It is like a part time job! Just stay the course and you'll get it done. Have you already checked with your insurance to make sure it's covered? Best of Luck! Tammy

that's great. I take it your visit went well? As far as the age thing I also am no spring chicken so did everything possible preop to get myself in shape and reduce my surgical risk. Also alot will depend on your consulations. I came through RNY with no major glitches and just one small minor one. I wish you well as you progress toward the right decision for you.
