I am not too sure as I was having problems with heartburn and reflux and he called me in a prescription. I would say to call the office and if he is on call he will call it in for you also. It worked GREAT.

If you are looking for it for heartburn, yes. As a calcium suppliment, it is calcium carbonate based and required 1.5 hours in a stomach to dissolve. Since the pouch will NEVER hold anything that long, won't help you at all.
