Hi Andrea - Have you tried GasX? I've heard it works wonders! Best of luck to you! Tammy

I know exactly how you feel when I was in the hospital the gas was so bad, that it shot all the way up up into my neck and shoulders! I walked and walked all day and sometimes in the middle of the night I would get up and walk, then all of a sudden on the 3rd day things starting moving... It will get out I promise, as far as the gas x i'm not sure if you are allowed to take that right now you might want to wait until you pass it on your own first.... good luck

Hi Andrea, The gas will pass,(no pun intended) . Your pouch is very sensetive right now so I wouldn't try any medications to relive it. Once your digestive system gets back in the swing of things you will back to normal. Take care, take it easy, and Welcome to the "Losing side! Julio

the gas bubbles are Finally fading, but I still have the occassional trucker moments...thanks to all for your advice....walking seemed to help as well as drinking out of a cup versus sucking on a water bottle.......lovin the losin side,,,,,,,,I NEVER loved the scale so much!!!!!!!! I have to say THIS IS THE BEST SITE I HAVE EVER BEEN ON.......thank god someone was brilliant enough to form it...I hope I can be there for all of you as you have been for me............The Best thing about Obese People is that 99% of the time an INCRIBLE person is in there just waiting to shine in the right forum....whether I will be 100 or 300lbs I will always be glad I found this place.......life is good, it can only get better!!!!!

hi there...I am 5 days post op and I know exactly what you are going thru....I had horrible gas. I would feel so bloated on my left side and the pain would shoot right to my left shoulder. I found what helped for me was to lay on my left side in a fetal position with my legs tucked up as close as I could get them. Then, I had a heating pad and I would put that on my lower abdomen on the lowest setting. Be sure to not put it near your incisions as the heat will bring blood to the surface and you dont want that. That might help you get rid of some of it. I have also taken Gas-X. It hasnt really worked for me. Hope this helps! Good luck.
