Oh this stinks !!!! I want you to 1) call your HUman Resources person and find out when the policy renewed- 2) Find out if you were already approved before the policy changed 3) Call the insurance company and get the policy in WRITING 4) Remember this isn't a NO it's just a stall tactic hang in there and don't let this sabatoge your goal- you will get through the BS ....

Hey Noribel, So sorry to hear your news. Keep fighting sweetie. They are bound to give in. Talk to your surgeon and your physician. Have them send letters to the company. If you have health problems that require this surgery they need to fight this. There are bariatric attornies too. Good Luck sweetie. Hugs KimC

That really stinks!! Hang in there. What kind of insurance? Aetna, Anthem? I know you will do just fine. I agree with the others, it's a stall tactic. Joe

I am soo sorry Have you talked to your employer about this, I sat down (in tears) with my administrater as Anthem pushed off answering and my new EXCLUDING insurance loomed and begged for help. She and my CFO called my insurance and pulled some serious strings to get me approved. It seems that as employers they are the payor source and NOT the ones that the insurance company wants to annoy. I also spoke to another nurse I work with who was a case manager at Anthem before joining us and she said that an employer will get results EVERYTIME...It worked for me....I will put you in my prayers....Drea

Oh No Noribel - I'm so sorry that your flying high ride has come to an abrupt stop - what a roller coaster of emotions for you, you poor thing - this really stinks big time..... You have to fight it! They can't switch rules in the middle of the process for you, it is unethical - there must be some type of grandfathering thing...... Like others have written here with very good advise, go to your HR rep and talk about this, they might be able to help you, if not consider getting an attorney, there are some who specialize in this discriminating activity. You can win this battle - don't give up! Warm Regards, Tammy

I am sorry to hear about the insurance problems, but I view it this way, over two years ago I tried to have the surgery my surgeon at the time canceled it (I had all my tests done and was two weeks out before surgery), because he discovered I had diabetes. I took it as a sign that it wasn't the right time. This time everything went so smoothly and the surgery was a breeze. I know in my heart that my surgery was post poned for a reason. So just trying to help and give you a little faith that it will happen. Jennie
