Hi Christine, Glad the meds are working for you. I've been stressed, depressed and full of anxiety lately myself. Sometimes, it was a little easier being "invisible." Do you ever experience that feeling? I'm going to try and use that "diet" that someone posted yesterday to get back on track. I need to print it out and keep it with me. I've been eating way too many carbs..... B - 3 oz. turkey and green beans L - protein drink - more veggies D - 3 oz turkey and green beans S - cottage cheese and fruit Lots of water No exercise for me today. Taking the day off. Hope you all have a great day - Kathy - congrats on the article. Tammy 272/160

I'm not saying that everyone who has had WLS surgery should be on anti-anxiety meds but it certainly seems like many of us have periods of mood swings, depression, etc. I think that they should look more closely at the link between surgery & depression. For me, it was mostly that I felt sick all the time, besides the pressure in my chest, I was generally achy alot, many headaches. And mentally just kinda felt like everything was wrong even when nothing was in particular. This sounds small but when you are constantly nervous its a wear and tear on the brain. If you would have asked me I would have said that I was just nervous about my health but I can see now that I was constantly worrying about everything ALL THE TIME. I'm not sure I am in love with the whole being on drugs thing but so far it seems to be helping. My two cents. But I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Kim... I was on a plateau for what seemed like FOREVER. Why don't you try these guidelines... For breakfast include protein AND carb -- perhaps, protein shake with whole wheat ceral? Snack -- fruit OR veggie (veggies are better, though) Lunch -- veggie AND protein (salad with some sort of meat) Snack -- veggie OR protein (i.e. celery sticks, cheese, or a few peices of chicken breast) Dinner -- protein AND vegetables -- (white meats are MUCH better for you than red) Try and stay away from dairy products and carbs after NOON. The later in the day you consume these, the more apt they are to be stored away rather than burned off. Also... get rid of those propels and snapples. Some say they're good for you... but for some people they're not (I am one of them!). In fact, stay away from all juices. Drink water... lots and lots and lots of water. Also Milk is VERY good in the morning. Green Tea is very good for detoxing your body. Make sure you're not getting in too much sodium, also. Sodium makes you retain fluid. I encourage you to try the above suggestion and see if it works for you. If I can think of any other plateau busting tricks, I'll let you know. Good Luck!!!! I hope you find something that works for you!!! --CJ 250/175/140 non-op
