I had an appt set up to see her this coming Friday, and the office called this morning cancelling it. The woman told me that she's leaving/left the practice and they are still looking for a new dietician and they will phone me when a new one starts. I don't know what has happened since last week when I was in the office to see Dr A and he wanted me to make an appointment with Elina (she was there that day because I saw her come to the lobby to call a patient in) , this Fri's appt was the next available that she had, but, they cancelled and she's not going to be there...ever again. I hope they hire someone really good. I only had to have one visit with Elina pre op and I didn't feel up or down about her, just neutral. I could use someone really hands on with a lot of knowledge. I hope they find that someone. Just wanted to let you all know what I found out. paula

Thanks for posting this. I'm not in this practice but I know that many of the people on the CT board are so this will be interesting news to them. The only thing that I can add is that my wish has always been to speak to a Nut. who had actually had the surgery or who had dealt with weight issues so that they could speak from personal experience not clinical experience. Not that you can't be helpful without having the surgery but... I don't know. I just think it would be a good idea.

Hi Paula, thanks for the info. I had my first pre op visit scheduled with Elina for Feb. 13th and today Wendy from Dr. A's office called and asked if I wouldnt mind rescheduling for next week instead. They were actually going to give me an appt this Friday but it didnt work for my schedule so I took next Tuesday instead. I guess they are trying to fit in as many pre ops as possible before she leaves. I met her for the first time at tonight's 5th Monday meeting. Like you, hope they find someone soon. Also wished insurance paid for the visit..makes no sense to me why a dietician visit wouldnt be covered when you are going for weight loss surgery!!! Angie

Thanks for posting this as I was in the process of making an appointment with her, now I am going to be stuck again. It is hard getting used to someone else, and I do not like change at my age. I am wishing her the best.. don't know what happens but it smells FOUL!! BlkNectar
