Hello All,

I didn't realize that I had not posted on this board yet.

I am a Connecticutician and recently found Dr. R. I have been through 3 other bariatric center programs and LOVE Dr. R AND his staff and glad that I finally found a good fit.

I will have surgery next Tuesday (that feels SOOO great to say) at St. Francis!

I am really excited that I will finally have surgery and I have found such a wonderful surgeon.

Thank you all for your insights and advice (even though I never commented, I have read this board for months)!

Happy Friday-eve!

Hi Becky,
Yes...I am a fan of Dr. R too. I look forward to the day I will have my surgery with him. It has been postponed twice due to insurance complications but hope to have it by July.

Can't believe you will be having your WLS next Tuesday!! Long time coming huh? You will be in my thoughts and let us know how you are doing.

Best of luck,
Mimi

Hi Becky...

Congrats on your upcoming surgery.. I switched to Dr. R's care a little over a year ago.. & he's thorough.. honest... & caring.. he's a straight shooter who wants everyone to succeed with the WLS.
While in the hospital & afterwards while home... he'll be in constant contact with you directly or the staff will.  (I kept calling him my favorite stalker.. LOL) he geniunely cares about you...

He can be a little "hard core" in his approach... but again it's because he's passionate about the surgery, follow-up.. OH YES PROTEIN INTAKE...LOL... get ready!!

I believe if he hadn't taken over my care when I went to him I would have been on a slippery slope with my health... I'm in so much better shape now than 2 years ago & I have his skill & expertise to thank (along with God's guiding hands.)

Keep us posted!
Hugs,
Mickey

Thank you all so much for your well wishes!

I am home after an uneventful surgery and already down 20 pounds!!

I really never believed that this would work for me, but seeing is believing. It took me 6 months before surgery to lose 20 pounds (and that was 2 months on all Optifast).

Feeling better everyday and cleared to start exercising aggressively.

Hi - I just looked at your profile - why did you have to do a liquid diet 4 to 6 weeks before surgery? Was this the normal protocol?

Congratulations on already being home 20 pounds - incredible!!
Warm Regards - Tammy -
