Plateau??
I've hit a plateau! I am only 6 weeks post-op, have lost 23 lbs since the surgery. I am doing Curves and walking on the opposite days, weighing out my protein and drinking my water. Is this too early to plateau or does this happen whenever and how long can it last. So far it's been 2 weeks
Any suggestions or ideas??

Nope not too soon. I didn't loose anything from 5-7 weeks. But this is also when I started to exercise more. Losing fat and gaining muscle causes the plateau. Don't stress and forget the numbers. Start thinking about how your clothes are fitting and how you are feeling. You should start seeing the numbers drop again soon.
Tina,
You will find that you will hit several mini-stops in weight loss during this journey. I wouldn't call them plateaus this early because it usually is very temporary and just a sign of your body catching up with all the changes going on. You just had major surgery and there is still a lot of healing going on there. 23lbs in a month and a half? Think about it.... that is a lot of weight for such a short time. Your body has been very busy! Don't worry, the weight will come off --- all you need to do is follow the doctor's orders and keep up the great job of getitng in your protein, fluids and exercise.
Sounds like you are right on track.

Tina,
I just started lossing again after about a 7 - 10 day standstill. But I have been working out and working with a personal trainor, and as others have said, it slowed down as my body got used to what I was doing. And of course muscle weighs more then fat. At almost 3 months, I am happy to report that I am at a 47.5 weight loss.
Keep it up, you are doing just fine.
Debbie
