Try nectar protien drinks! I love them... my favorite are Ice lemon tea, roadside lemonade, fuzzy navel and wild berry cherry. Try that!

Thanks Kathy, I did think of that but I cant. I am on the 1 wk pre-surgery diet. It has to be this special advanced recovery shake. I can only add water and other 0 calorie fluids to it. I found an iced tea with 0 cals/fat/ and its made w splenda so I am trying that. But thease shakes are so gross. Thanks for the thought. Believe me I wish I could.

Hi Bree, sorry your shakes are not as delcious as they could be. You may want to write down the nutritional info on them and shop around on the net to see what else is out there that matches what your taking . Just a thought. Good Luck and your right, they will do good in the long run. Godspeed young Lady! Julio

Hang in there Bree - I heard from someone else that the vanilla were really bad and the chocolate were more tolerable.... I think I will order all chocolate and forgo the vanilla experience! Maybe you could use some extract to help? I think these advanced drinks are a new requirement - my friend who just had the surgery in October from Dr. Barba was able to drink carnation instant breakfast - that stuff is awesome! Anyway - I read up on the advanced recovery and it really is supposed to be helpful with recovering from the surgery........so hold you nose and chug it down -you can do this!! 1 day down - 6 to go and then you'll be all done! Next month when it's my turn - I'll expect the same pep talk okay?? You can do this!!

Bree, The chocolate is much better to tolerate, so much better then the vanilla. The Impact recovery drinks are part of Dr. Barba's pre-op surgery diet, it promotes healing and aids in a quicker recovery after surgery. After surgery you cannot drink them as I think they have sugar in them, and after surgery, sugar is a no no, as we all know. I lucked out and the pharmacy only had the chocolate left, plus at the nuturitional visit where the diet was discussed, I tried the vanilla and knew that there was no way I was going to drink that 3 times a day. Like Tammy suggested, just hold your nose when you drink the vanilla ones and yor day will be here before you know it!! Debbie

Thank you so much I really needed that. I will totally give you the same lecture next month. Dont you worry. Thanks again and I will keep you posted. FYI - the chocolate is SOOOO much better than the vanilla, but still not great. Bree
