CT Plastic Surgeon?

Hi everyone! I had lap band surgery in October '04 and am finally starting to think about plastic surgery - in fact I think about it TOO much!! Anyway, I was hoping that some of you who have been through this phase of the journey would mind letting me know which plastic surgeon you used? I know the consultation is where we get that "feeling" about a doctor -- but I have two offices in mind (only from internet research) and would really appreciate a personal experience referral. If you would rather email me than post, I would love to hear from you!! I am in the Shelton area -- so I could travel anywhere really -- Danbury, New Haven, Bridgeport, Westport - if they're wonderful, I'll travel for them! Thank you in advance! Kristin J

Hi Kristen! I just had my abdominoplasty done on 1/3/06. I am from Derby and I used Dr. David J. Goodkind from Plastic /Reconstructive Surgery Associates. He works out of New Haven, Milford, and Ansonia. I found out about him from going to one of our WLS support groups and he was a speaker. He is VERY experienced, and very thorough, great bedside manners, very funny, nice Doctor. You can tell he loves doing what he does and he strives to get it to look perfect. I am so happy with my results. He went above and beyond my expectations. His office is also very pleasant to work with. I had the surgery out of Milford Hospital. He also does surgeries in Griffin Hospital and St. Raphaels as well. The number to his office is 203-624-5536. Good luck on your journey! Keep us posted! I had surgery at St. R's, too - so that makes me feel comfortable -- it is so good to hear such a glowing report -- I really appreciate your input!! Hi Kristin I just had a tummy tuck on the 16th with Dr. David Passaretti in Darien. He has been extremely nice and very good to work with. Bob-Thank you! I was all set to reply & decided to peek at your profile-I went just as far back as the night before surgery and had to stop because I welled up with tears! I guess I will be going through some of those same emotions if all goes as planned. But thank you for your input -- I am hoping to meet with atleast 2 doctors before committing to one & from these success stories I think I already have two! Kristin, I hear you on the whole PS thing. I had my surgery Dec '04 and think about PS all the time. But I am of course waiting for my 18 month timeframe the drs tell us to wait. Good luck with your search and also will email you directly. Carrie

My 18 month mark is April 8th - but I wanted to split my upper & lower body into 2 different surgeries, so I'm doing the top half now ((fingers crossed)). It seems like every time Dr. 90210 or one of the other plastic surgery shows are on, I have the front row spot! Thank you - I will check my email! Kristin J

Where are you going and if I may ask what is the cost? and the coverage that you have if possible. I am going to have this as well. I have an appt 2/27 for a consult and in April my 18 months are up. I want the same as you. Let me know Jannie

I just made my first appointment with Dr. Goodkind -- it is for this coming Weds 2/1, so I'm not sure what the costs are yet. I will let you know after I meet with him -- I think I am going to find out what the cost would be for a tummy tuck as well. I am hoping to meet with at least 2 surgeons and then make a decision, but if I absolutely love and trust the first one, I think I'll follow my instincts. I will post after my meeting on Wednesday! Dr. Ralph Crum performed my panniculectomy and I have been very pleased with the results. He also did my thigh reconstructions (I had a lot of excess skin removed from each leg in conjunction with varicose vein surgery). Given his experience with gastric bypass patients, I've found that he has a good sense of our needs as reconstructive surgery patients. Plus, whether it's a larger procedure at Norwalk Hospital or a smaller procedure that he can do in-office, the care is very good.
