Hi Colleen, I couldn't take the huge chewables either..YUK I switched to a liquid form of Calcium Citrate that you only take one tablesspoonful a day. It's Tropical Oasis brand and it tastes like a tart liquid yogurt. It's bearable because you take so little of it. I decided on it after reading a lot of good reviews of it on these forums. I got mine at www.bariatriceating.com and was about 20 bucks for a big bottle. Keep it in the refrigerator because it tastes better cold. Paula

Hey Colleen, I actually started taking CVS brand fruit flavored chewables, they taste really good and are so much easier to tolerate. Good luck sweetie, hope this helps. Hugs KimC

Hi Colleen! Many post-ops have trouble with the large calcium citrate pills - so you are not alone! Unfortunately, most of the chewables are not calcium citrate, but rather calcium carbonate. Studies show that citrate is more readily absorbed by the body and therefore the preferrable type of calcium for post-ops. The 2 brands I am familiar with that are in liquid form are the Tropical Oasis mentioned in a previous post, and Super Cal-Pro from the Vitamist people which comes in Orange or Lemon flavor and a serving is 500mg Calcium and 10 gm protein. You could probably also check your local vitamin store like GNC or the Vitamin Shoppe for a citrate pill alternative. Good luck!!! Hugs, Carla
