2 Years ago today! My life changed Forever!

Wow, I am sitting here recovering from my abdominoplasty watching TV, and it finally hit me ......today......2 years ago.....was my Gastric bypass surgery. I almost forgot about it with everything that has been going on! Two years ago I was wheeled into the OR being a type 2 diabetic on 3 meds. I was also at wit's end having fighting my weight for so many years, and unable to conceive children and I weighed 330 pounds. WOW! Here I am 2 years later.......it has been a wild rollercoaster ride since my day of surgery, but I would not change anything for the world! My life has been blessed in so many different ways imaginable..... 1) No more diabetes 2) I now weigh 175 pounds (this was my personal goal, but now I am making it 160) I have lost 155 pounds! 3) I went from desperatley wanting and trying to have children to 10 days post-op, I received a call for my first adopted son, then I got a call 10 months later for his baby brother which is now my second adopted son. 4) I was able to get pregnant and it was a miracle, I did'nt even know i was pregnant the first 6 months! Unfortunatley we lost little Austin at birth, but it was nothing due to WLS, and he is our little now and he is our sign of HOPE! 5) My husband had WLS as well and has no more diabetes, and has lost 120 pounds. 6) I just had my abdominoplasty 1/3/06 and have the belly I always dreamed of having! See, how your life can change! Thank god for WLS, because without it, I would not be able to do the things I can do today. It saved my life and made many of my dreams come true and then some! I am so happy living life to the fullest! Yes, it has ups and downs, but that is what life is all about. As long as you try to reach for the stars and don't give up trying, you will eventually get there! OMG - I can hardly believe it's been 2 years!!! Happy Anniversary my angelette!!! My how far you've come. I can still remember us sitting at the pre-op sessions in the auditorium! Hey MaryJo, HAPPY 2nd REBIRTHDAY TO YOU !!!!!!! CONGRATS how far you have come and enjoy your FREEDOM after your gastric bypass surgery. I know it is not easy to have this WLS , you keep your tools to make you successful and changed your life style and your realtionship with foods. Make your next goal reach and stick with it !! The first time I read your article in the Hospital Newsletter and then saw your interview on TV I wanted to meet you. I am so honored to call you friend. I am so very happy for both you and Tom. Jaime and Logan are so adorable and your both so blessed. Knowing Austin is an angel above is a blessing too. I am so grateful to have you in my life and so proud of you on your success. My Dear friend Kim, Thank you SO much for all of you love and support.........if it were not for this surgery and this board, we would have never met! Thank you for always being there for me and everyone else on here, you are a wonderful person too! I am so happy we met. Sorry I did'nt get a chance to call you back.....the boys have bad colds...and things have been crazy.....but maybe we can get together this week or weekend coming. this surgery is truely a life changing surgery. I'm new and only down 80 plus pounds and it is amazing how the quality of my life has changed for the better. I have God to thank for that. So I guess I will wish you HAPPY BIRTHDAY for being reborn 2 years ago today. Happy birthday.!!!
