Not tolerating Puree very well....
Hi Bernadette,
When I started puree stage...I could only eat about one ounce of food at a time...I got full...
Did you try fresh shrimp pureed w/ a bit of mayo?? That was my favorite.
I also got Wendy's Chili and pureed it and added some unflavored Unjury and it went down well.
I couldn't do eggs right away. Made me sick.
Cottage Cheese has always been a fav of mine and still is for breakfast.
Are you eating it too quickly? I bought baby food spoons so that I'd just take a tiny bite at a time, put the spoon down, relish the taste in my mouth, chew it a bit and swallow. Rest, then do the same again.
It's a trial and error process right now.
As long as you're still getting in your 65gms of protein a day, don't worry.
Call Lois if you're in doubt...not sure if they're in today though.
How's your liquid intake? You don't want to get dehydrated either. Keep sip, sip, sipping away to get in at least 50 ounces a day at this point. I had that prob too.
Salt...is your blood pressure low? My blood pressure was low at this point too and I had to add some salt to my diet. I did bouillon cubes made into broth with unflavored unjury in it to get the sodium and protein.
Hang in there...and be sure to keep on resting!

Thanks you guys- for all your support and suggestions- I am backing it down today and laying low- the gurgling and groaning my tummy did after a cup of peppermint tea suggests the pouch is mad at me. I am going to just hydrate myself today and try a protein drink later- and go easy today. I went to bed at like 8pm or so last night and got up after 7 this morning. I was wrung out. Never threw up. Just really really wanted to last night. I am sure everybody knows that feeling.
I know its a learning curve and I will get past it- and be able to eat again eventually- I am in no hurry- eating isn't all its cracked up to be anyway- who knew chewing could be so tiring? And everybody is right- what I used to love I now have no desire for....Eating to live in stead of living to eat....I think I am there already.
The chickens are very happy...there is a lot more leftover now. They get the scraps from the dinner table.
