Mon. & Tues. Support Group Meetings

Hi, All! This coming Mon., 1/16, is the 3rd Mon. of the month, so the meeting at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown (6:30 - 7:30 p.m.) is for both pre- and post-ops. It'll be general discussion with questions and answers. Mon. is MLK Day, but I checked and it's not a hospital holiday, so the meeting will go on as scheduled. However, the Hamden support group meeting which would normally have also been on Mon. night is postponed to Tues. night, 1/17, (6:30 - 8 p.m.) because the Senior Center is closed on MLK Day. The Hamden meeting (at the Senior Center behind the Miller Library on Dixwell Ave.) is for both pre- and post-ops and usually consists of general discussion with questions and answers. The Middlesex group is primarily attended by patients of Dr. Aranow, but anyone is welcome. The Hamden group isn't affiliated with any particular doctor or hospital, is run by a couple of post-ops and is open to everyone. Because of the holiday situation, this is one time that I don't have to choose between the groups and can attend both meetings. If you need directions to either one, please e-mail me. Is anyone interested in going to dinner after the meetings? Dinner is for both pre- and post-ops and the point of going out isn't the food, it's the additional support and a chance to get to know each other better. Have a good weekend! Debby
