For about a month now I have been feeling this numbness in my lower leg. my right foot feels like it is asleep most of the time..My CHiropractor asked me to stop going to the gym for now and take it easy. HE says it is my sciatic nerve, something is pressing on it..He also thinks it may be due to the weightloss and the redistribution of the weight...I wouldn't be too worried, as the chiropractic adjustments are helping, but the fact that it's been a month does worry me a bit. By the way, I have also seen my regular doctor and she thinks it's the sciatic as well. ....It's really botherng me..Has anyone heard of this becoming a problem after weightloss? anyone else experiencing it? any tips on how to get better ? Love, Dorota

Hi Dorota, Sorry your having a problem with your leg. The only thing I have noticed is leg cramps happening to me. Someone told me to try eating banana's to get more potasium in me. Seem's to have worked for me. Hope your feeling better soon. take care, Julio

I'm quite sure it will resolve in time, and your med. proffessionals are right. You might try some yoga instead of the gym. It;s very helpful for posture and alignment. It can be hard when you have a siatic problem to get rid of it, because you compensate for the pain and when you do, you usually wind up aggrivating the problem! So, low low impact to no impact is a good idea for sure. I have also heard, in VERY rare occasions of nerve damage due to vitamin deficience. I think it's a very extreme thing, but I have heard of it here on this site. I just can't remember what it;s called. You could probably do a search and find something. But, if you're talking your vits and you've had your blood panels done regularly, this should not be something to worry about. Hang in there! Best, Lisa

Dorota, I have been dealing with the same problem for a year now. I am pre-op and hoping the surgery will help. The pool has also helped me out a lot. you might want to try working out in a pool. Just a suggestion. JEN

We all hear pre-op that this surgery cures everything. Well...... Weight loss does have it downsides. If you had the problem previous to surgery, the weight loss will help... for a while. What has been found out is that although the weight loss will reduce the pain, the location of the remaining weight will give the same type of pressure you had prior to surgery in some cases. When I was at my lowest points, I was having back pain again. As I have made some progress away from that , that group of pains did go away. So, go figure. I am not sure that more weight loss will not remove the pressure and pain. Can't tell you. Hopy you find the answer for you is yes. Still can't wait to see you in pink Peter
