Hi Tammy,

I work at St. Francis and will also (hopefully) be having surgery with Dr. R.   I have completed all of my pre-op testing and will be meeting with him on June 3rd.

My question for you is this....what time is you appointment on the 28th?  Would you like to meet for coffee before or after your appointment?

You can reach me at my personal email or my St. Francis voice mail which is : (860) 714-6884.

I work for the department of anesthesia and before I decided to go with Dr. R. I researched all of the doctors who perform the GBP in the state and several doctors out-of-state.

Let me know!!

So very nice to meet you today Allison! My appointment went MUCH BETTER then the last one - I have a much better feeling toward the doctor - I was a little disappointed that I have to go through all the pre-op testing all over again - originally I was told to only go for a couple of things - today I found out I have to do it ALL - so I'm back to appointment hell - but hopefully I'll be ready to go for insurance approval sometime in August or September... anyway - thanks for reaching out and it was truly a pleasure meeting you. Please keep in touch!
Warm Regards - Tammy -

Hi Tammy!

I enjoyed meeting you as well!  I'm glad to hear your appointment today was a much better experience!  What did he say/do today that made a difference?  Did you feel that he understood you better?  I understand the appointment hell because I just completed all my appointments.   I meet with Dr. R for the first time next Wednesday (June 3rd).  What's most nerve wracking for me is that I have to wait until sometime this Sept./Oct to find out if my company will take the rider out that states they will not pay for the surgery.  Dr. Rosenburg, the current president of the practice seemed pretty positve but he still needs the quotes from the insurance company before he can give me a final yes or no.  Until then I will proceed as if they are going to pay, so after I see Dr. R. next Wed., I'll start the 6 mo. diet.

I definitely want to keep in touch....we can help each other on this journey!  Any time you're at the hospital, feel free to call me or even if you're not at the hospital and want to chat, give me a hollar!

Hi Allison - I just openly told him that I thought he did a flip flop on me from the first appointment to the second and he said he was under the impression that I wasn't committed to the RNY and he apologized if he upset me at the second appointment. It was just a much better appointment. He did tell me that I need to try to lose as much weight as possible before the surgery and try to get in the best shape possible because that will make the surgery more successful - he wasn't too impressed with my eating habits and told me that I need to really focus on getting my protein in each day and not eating wrap sandwiches so often - I didn't think wraps were a big carb issue - so I'll work on those two things and also trying to figure out integrating exercise in to the best of my ability. Anwyay - I have 7 appointments lined up so far and several of them are at St. Francis - I'll be in touch and you do the same!

Let me know how your appointment goes on 6/3 - Good Luck!!
Warm Regards - Tammy -
