I survived it a little better than last year. Not too many things out of the ordinary this year, except a very minor car accident and the police coming to visit after church on Christmas eve. It helps to know your sister's home security code. Since there is a bit more free time this week, back to lifting for the first time since before surgery. It's not surprising that part of the weight loss does include a decrease in upper body strength. Dave

Hi Dave, Glad to hear you survived Christmas. Was anyone hurt in the car accident? I read posts of others that were so well behaved with food.....not me. I ate a little of this, a little of that. Enjoyed every second. I was kind of mad at myself, then when I really sat and thought about all that I ate, it wasn't half as bad as I had thought. Compared to the last oh, dozen, years, it was actually ok. Back to eating right today and hitting the gym. ha ha. OK, after the cookie I had for breakfast (oh, and I threw the rest of them out too - damn those leftovers!). And as far as upper body strength - I definately can relate. If it weren't for weight training, I'd have no upper body at all. tee hee. Love, Tammy 272/167 (and still counting!!)

No, it was very minor... I managed to bump the car of an elderly couple who stopped very quickly to turn into their driveway. I saw them and slowed down almost-enough... Other than a bit of a scare, we were all fine and agreed to just go our own way. Once again, as far as cheating with food is concerned, I was the poster boy for bad eating. At least it was less in quantity. I managed to hook my mom, sister, and neice on what I had left of that "good" chocolate, so I will have to get some more. I think the biggest shock was mom's full-length mirror. My new philosophy is that I either lose weight or proportion, but not at the same time. I have only lost 10 pounds since I was there a month ago, but the mirror is saying something else. Dave

I can't say I was much if any better. Food still tempts way too much. I did take a 2-3 hour nap at my in-laws on Sunday, and spent the afternoon napping at home today. Crashing from the constant work. Tomorrow morning... breakfast with Melissa and my sister somewhere. Interested in a walk on the track Wed morn? Peter

I assume you are talking about the East Hampton High school track. That would be fine on Wednesday morning, just let me know the time. Dave

Glad the accident was minor Dave. I also confess to indulging on holiday goodies. Like Tammy said, I certainly did not go off like I did before I had this surgery, but it is a little scary to see how easy it is to graze. I did very well with meals, but a cookie here and a cookie there...here a cookie there a cookie everywhere a cookie cookie! Thankfully the scale was pretty nice to me --- up only a couple of pounds. The same couple I have been battling for the last few months...Ugh....Back on track tomorrow. All the bad things are coming to work with me to fatten up the guys in the garage. It will look way better on their hips than on mine! terri

Some post-ops mentioned a desire to have a scale for voluntary weigh-in before meetings. I can get a doctor's scale (rated up to 350 and perhaps a bit more), which is what I used to use before I went over that maximum back a few years ago. I do so want to start running outside and these above freezing temperatures are a tease. Dave
