HI Everone, This is my first post and I have a question. I am 7 weeks post op and have been eating and trying things. But I am really craving salad. When is the best time to try to eat lettuce and some raw vegetables? I do not want to try too soon, but I would really like to have a nice, but small chicken cesar salad, even if it is only one bite. Please check with your doctor on this. It was QUITE a while before I was cleared for salads and raw veggies. In fact, raw veggies still hurt sometimes, even at three years out. So, in order to avoid any damage, please make sure you check with the Pro! best wishes, Lisa C P.S. I used to crave chicken caesar salad too, so I know how you feel! Remember too htat regular caesar dressing is probably going to be a no-no for some time. Goodness gracious, you don'te EVEN want to know the calories and fat that are in it!

Hi Deb, Do ask your doctor before you try salad. I'm pretty sure my instructions had me waiting at least 3 months before I could have any. I too love salad and have a small one just about every night, so be patient. Take Care, Julio

Hi Debbie and welcome to the board!!! I eat alot of salad but I am almost 6months post op now, but I've been eating very small salads for awhile now. But do like everyone suggest, check with your doctor before eating anything new. I used to ground mine up very fine and definitly take small bites but for me even now I can eat alot of salad and fruit but as far as I can remember I've been doing this as early on 2 to 3 months. But check with your doc. Good luck and keep us posted. Cheri

Hi Debbie, Please check with your Dr. or nutrionist before doing anything. I had no problems with salad, and was knocked out when I seen the calories and sugar in driessing, as I like salad with my dressing. I still don't like low fat, but I only eat a cup or less of salad and only 2 tablespoons of dressing lite if possible. It works for me, I have no trouble with veggies, ask before you eat, and you will save yourself a lot of grief!! BlkNectar :thumbs up:
