I know I know.. It is all my own fault as I am not getting int he protein that I am supposed to. I just can't stand the taste of anything. I am going to try that Profect I think as that is a small tube and there are alot of grams in it. Does anyone have any hints or secrets on how to stop the hair loss?? Does it all come back and if so how long do you usually loose it before it starts to grow back?? Lisa

Lisa Hair loss is going to happen--its just one of the side effects to this surgery. Nioxin is a shampoo and conditioner you can get from your beauty salon--some people have said it helps...I never tried it. Rest assured this will last only a month or two and your hair will come back better than before! Well, mine did anyway..and I am not sure if there is something too this...but my hair is now curly...and before surgery it had just a wave to it. Hang in there...this is one of the downsides..there are many more positives to this surgery--try to focus on those while your hair grows back!! Joanie

My hair thinned out pretty well from months 4 to 6. Some people say its due to not eating enough protein or getting enough vitamins but I'm not sure about that. You already know that you need to get your protein in but I honestly don't think it will help the hair problem. It will correct itself in its own time don't worry. In the meantime, I used hair pieces to cover up the thin spots.

Hi Lisa, I lost quite a bit of hair. I finally made the decision to cut it off short..(it's helped.) My hair loss lasted about 3 months & finally has stopped. I have "baby hair"-new growth coming in. I have heard Biotin is suppose to help. There are caplets out in the pharmacy & GNC stores that are available. I personally haven't used them. I knew that losing some hair was part of the process...& where I expected it...I was a little overwhelmed with how much I did lose. Keeping it short has helped me deal with it emotionally although I really miss my length. My hubby actually likes the short look....I was surprised at that also...he's a long hair lover..LOL... My hair dresser said that our hair has alot of Protein in it...(Karotin ???) it would make sense that if our body isn't getting enough protein than it would have to "take it" from where ever it can... Hang in there it does get better..& the Benefits...definately out weigh the hair loss factor. Take Care, Mickey
